Baron Trump’s Marvelous Underground Journey

Have you ever heard of a novel that seems to have predicted the rise of Donald Trump as the president of the United States? It’s called “Baron Trump’s Marvelous Underground Journey” and it was written by Ingersoll Lockwood in 1893. The story is about a young boy named Baron Trump, who is the son of a wealthy and influential man. He goes on an adventurous journey to Russia, guided by a mysterious figure named Don. Along the way, he encounters strange and fantastic creatures, cultures, and civilizations.

The novel has attracted a lot of attention in recent years for its eerie similarities to some aspects of Donald Trump’s life and presidency. Here are some of the most astonishing coincidences that have sparked speculations about time travel and hidden connections between the book and reality.

The Name and the Family

The most obvious similarity is the name of the protagonist, Baron Trump, which is almost identical to Barron Trump, the son of Donald Trump and Melania Trump. Barron is also the youngest child of a wealthy and powerful father, who lives in a lavish building named after himself. In the novel, Baron Trump lives in Castle Trump, while in real life, Barron Trump lived in Trump Tower before moving to the White House.

The Russian Connection

Another striking resemblance is the fact that Baron Trump’s journey begins in Russia, a country that has been at the center of many controversies and investigations involving Donald Trump’s campaign and administration. In the novel, Baron Trump is led by Don, who is described as “the Master of all Masters”. Some have suggested that Don could be a reference to Donald Trump himself, or to his mentor Roy Cohn, who was nicknamed “Don”. Others have pointed out that Don is also a title used by powerful leaders in Russia, such as Ivan the Terrible and Peter the Great.

The Chicago Unrest

In 2020, Chicago witnessed several episodes of violence and looting following the police shooting of a black man on the south side. The city imposed a curfew and deployed the National Guard to restore order. This scenario bears some resemblance to another book by Ingersoll Lockwood, titled “1900; or, The Last President”. In this book, which was published in 1896, a populist outsider candidate wins the presidential election and causes a wave of protests and riots across the country. One of the scenes depicts a mob storming a hotel in Chicago, where the president-elect is staying. The hotel is called the Fifth Avenue Hotel, which happens to be the name of a real hotel in New York City, located near Trump Tower.

The Time Travel Theory

the time travel

Some conspiracy theorists have taken these similarities as evidence that Donald Trump or someone close to him has access to a time machine and has used it to alter history or to gain foresight. They claim that this time machine was invented by Nikola Tesla, a famous inventor and engineer who died in 1943. According to this theory, Tesla’s papers and experiments were seized by the FBI after his death, and were later inherited by Donald Trump’s uncle, John Trump, who was a professor at MIT and a consultant for the government. John Trump allegedly found Tesla’s plans for a time machine and shared them with his nephew, who then used them to travel back in time and inspire Ingersoll Lockwood to write his novels.

Of course, there is no solid proof for this wild theory, and most likely, the similarities between Baron Trump’s novel and Donald Trump’s presidency are nothing more than coincidences or examples of life imitating art. However, it is still fascinating to explore the connections between fiction and reality, and to wonder if there is more to this story than meets the eye.
